Jorie

Today, Jorie was honored at her school for being student of the month in her class. She was awarded for showing the fruit of the spirit-- "gentleness". Steve and I both attended the assembly; along with Joshua. We are so thankful and feel very blessed that we can send our daughter to a christian school where we know our values will be taught. She is learning so much this year and we are so excited that she will be attending this school next year as well. She is doing excellent and has grown so much this past school year! We are very proud of her!

Ipad

Last Friday, Steve took me out for our weekly "date night". As we were driving along, I noticed that there was something wedged in between the two seats. As I looked closer, I realized it was an Ipad! I was so excited! Steve has been promising me one for several months and said that when they came out in April, that he was going to get me one. I had no idea that he was going to pick one up so soon, so I was very surprised. We are having to much fun with our new Ipad. Everyone is enjoying it. And I am especially happy that Ryan can use it. The touch screen is so sensitive that it doesn't take much strength from Ryan to make it work. It's pretty amazing!!! I am wishing that we had something like this when Ryan was younger. We can do slideshows, play music, play games and check emails to name a few. But, the options are endless!

Catching bugs!

As a little girl I always loved catching bugs, snakes, lizards and almost any small creature. My kids enjoy it too and recently I bought them something that makes catching bugs even easier. It's a bug vacuum and it actually sucks the insect up into the little container; you can then close the container and see them through a magnifying glass piece. It is SO cool! We had one a few years back and it didn't last too long after getting sand and dirt in it. But, hopefully this one lasts a little longer. We are starting to see more and more insects as the weather warms up. So, hopefully we can capture some neat insects to watch!

My Birthday

Today was my birthday and I had such a great day celebrating it with my family! My morning started out with breakfast out with my husband! This is rare treat for me. I rarely go to breakfast. So, that was fun. He then took me shopping and we also stopped by to upgrade my cell phone. I can't believe how much technology has changed since my last phone! Amazing all the things you can do with cell phones now! Wow! I will look forward to learning all about it when I get it in a few days as they didn't have any left in stock. :( We then had a lovely dinner at my parent's tonight followed by a delicious cake! I probably should have taken more photos. But, here are two from tonight anyway! It was a great day!!

Will my teeth rot out??

Cousin, Elliott was over at our house this evening. I was going through the bedtime routines with Jorie and Joshua and Elliott was watching carefully. I had just finished brushing Joshua's teeth and he then asked for some juice. I told him "No". Elliott then asked, "why can't Joshie have more juice?" I just said without thinking much about it, "well, if I gave him juice to drink right after brushing his teeth at night, it will rot his teeth". Elliott walked away and came up to me a few minutes later. He asked, "Aunt Lora, is it scary to have your teeth rot out?" I explained to him that I just meant that he could get cavities and I was trying to avoid that. Elliott thought about it some more and then asked, "Aunt Lora!" "Can you brush my teeth too?" "I want my teeth brushed right now!" I told him that he could brush his teeth as soon as he got back to Grandma and Grandpa's house. He finally accepted that after several attemtps to get me to brush his teeth too! About 30 minutes after Elliott returned to Grandma and Grandpa's house; I was chatting with my mom on the phone. She said to me that Elliott went right in and brushed his teeth first thing upon getting home. She was a bit puzzled as to why he did that. And then I went on to explain what happened. How funny is that? I guess "rotting teeth" scared him. Maybe that's a good thing though. He is sure to have clean teeth from now on! LOL

Easter

We enjoyed Easter Sunday with just our family this year. And due to the cold weather outside, we decided to have our Easter Egg hunt indoors. I think we did it this way last year too! Jorie and Joshua hunted for eggs that Ryan helped hide throughout our living room and den. Joshua was so thrilled to have gotten his eggs that he sat right down on the floor and started opening them up after only collecting 2 or 3! He was too excited about opening up the eggs and finding his treasures. The kids got an electric bubble blower. But, since it was so cold outside, we tried it out in the garage. They really enjoyed that! They also received some new toys to play with in the sandbox. Steve and I actually left for our Vegas trip the very next day. So, we had a great Sunday enjoying our kids before we left for our trip. It was a good Easter!

Dying Easter Eggs

A little late. But, here are some pictures from Easter, finally! Jorie and Joshua really enjoyed dying their Easter eggs this year! Joshua kept exclaiming over and over again, "oh, so pretty!" It was pretty cute.
