Daddy's girl

I was looking through some older photos and came across these two of Jorie and her Daddy. These are two of my most favorites. Although there are MANY! I have found that over the past couple of years it has gotten harder and harder to find the time to actually edit and print my pictures. Before, I did it once a month! Most of them are now just stored on the computer rather than in albums! But, I will never stop taking them. Jorie adores her Daddy and I think these two pictures capture that pretty well. :)

Last day of school and crazy hair day!

Jorie's last day of school was also crazy hair day. So, we decided to braid her hair and spray it blue! It actually didn't take very long to braid and when she took her hair out the next morning, it was SO cute and wavy and most of the blue had faded! I also posted a picture of Jorie with her teacher. I can't believe my little girl will be a 2nd grader in the fall!

Trip to Portland

To celebrate an end to the school year we took Ryan and Jorie on a short trip to Portland. While we were there we all took a ride on the tram. There are two cable cars that take you up to view the city of Portland. The tram actually takes you straight up to the very hospitals that we used to take Ryan to when he was younger. It was fun to visit there without actually having to go to Shriners or Dornbecker Children's hospital for any other reason other than to view the city of Portland! There was a little walkway outside and a sitting area with tables. So, we enjoyed the view for a bit before heading back down. It was a beautiful day too. A little chilly. But, beautiful blue skies made it so pretty up there!

Almost summer

As it's nap time right now for Joshie and my older two are in school; I thought it might be a good time to update my blog! We enjoyed a weekend at home with lots of guests! Ryan and Jorie had friends over on Saturday. They stayed most of the day and we enjoyed a pizza dinner with them before they went home. On Sunday, we had Steve's Aunt Cheryl, Aunt Karen and Grandpa Prisk over for a visit. We enjoyed sitting out on the front porch with them as it was such a beautiful day! Josh and Jorie rode their bikes and scooters out front while the adults visited. It's a little harder to convince Ryan to join the adults so he stayed inside most the time watching a basketball game on TV. I think he enjoyed the quiet house quite a bit! :)

Today will be Ryan's last day of middle school. I still can't believe how fast the last 3 years have flown by. I can still remember when he started middle school; Joshua was just a newborn, Jorie was starting preschool and we were so nervous as to how it would go for Ryan starting a new school again with new staff of therapists, a new 1:1 nurse and all new teachers! But, it has probably been the best 3 years of school he's ever had! We have had such amazing people working with Ryan the past 3 years and we feel so blessed to have them in our lives. I have gone from a very nervous, worried mother leaving my son at school for the first time all those years ago...to feeling very confident about how well he is cared for during the day! It's an incredible relief to know your medically fragile child is in good hands! It makes all the difference in the world!
Jorie will finish school on Thursday with a BBQ/picnic/field day. She's pretty excited about that! She has grown SO much this year in school. It's incredible really. She is now reading chapter books and LOVES to read! Hopefully, we can make several trips to the library this summer!

Hanging out outside!

One of our most favorite places to hang out as a family is on our front porch. It's such a great front porch. It stretches the length of our house; it's mostly covered AND it even has speakers so we can listen to music while we are outside! Joshua enjoyed riding his bike back and forth in front of our house and Jorie and Ryan even got some icecream from the "icecream man" today. First time we've seen him this year. During the summer, he makes his way down our street nearly every day! But, it's pretty rare that I actually let the kids get icecream from him. So, they were pretty thrilled!!

Fishing!

My parents took Jorie and Ryan fishing today. They both caught two fish. Here is Jorie and Grandpa with her fishies. And if I can figure out how to get my mom's pictures onto my computer, I can post the rest! They had a great time!!!

Family Reunion!

Ryan has been fighting a bug for the past week or so. He was feeling well enough for us to attend our family reunion this past weekend, though. We were very thankful for that! It was fun seeing relatives that I haven't seen in a long time. And,I got to see one of my cousins whom I haven't seen in years! That was alot of fun! We were such good friends as little girls and I have alot of fond memories of her! It was great to see you and your family, Julie! Attached are a few photos of my kiddos and Julie's kids! Her kids are so sweet and polite. Just a precious family.
