Burritos

Every night, Steve makes a point to tuck Jorie and Joshie in like little burritos. "bito, bito" Joshie yells. It's too cute. :) And the funny thing is that Joshie actually likes that security and warmth of the blankets wrapped around him and will often times fall asleep that way. Jorie, on the other hand, tosses and turns and pushes the blankets off soon after we tuck her in.

Jorie and Joshua

I cut all three kids' hair over Christmas vacation. I must've cut at least 5 inches off of Jorie's hair! She wanted a shorter hair-do and I finally agreed. I just LOVE fixing her hair though and will miss it until it grows out again. If she'd let me, I'd probably have it fixed in a different style every day. But, she just likes to wear it down. It IS much easier to maintain at least! These pictures were taken Monday morning right before school. She was SO excited to return to school after a 2 week break. Can you tell?

New Year's Day part 2

We tried to get all of the kids together for a picture at the end of the day. William didn't really want to have his picture taken, as you can see here and Ryan never wants his picture taken anymore. :(

Running off some of their energy outside!

New Year's Day celebration

Here are some photos from New Year's Day. We had my parents, my Aunt Karen and Heidi and Bill and family over for the day. We enjoyed yummy foods, football and lots of conversation! Here are my Aunt Karen and mom playing the piano and singing together.

We exchanged gifts with Luke and William as we didn't get to see them on Christmas.

We moved a TV into our living room so the boys could play video games while the older boys watched football. The kids really enjoyed having a TV in the living room!

A winter walk

We took Jorie and Joshua for a morning walk on New Year's Day. During the winter, even something as simple as a walk outside is nearly impossible for Ryan to participate in with us. So, we try to make sure the younger two get to enjoy physical activity when Ryan is staying with his grandparents. We bundled them up, put on their snowboots and took them outside to jump in the puddles from the melting snow. They had SO much fun! With all of the snow we have had recently, it was nice to get outside again and be able to take a walk with the kids! We hope to take Jorie up to the mountain to do some sledding sometime in the next couple of weeks too!

Ready for 2010!

I was looking back at my blog and realized it has been a year since I started it! The kids have been home from school for Christmas break for 2 weeks. (Ryan has been home for 3 weeks as he was sick before Christmas break). So, it will be a hard transition for them to start back to school tomorrow I think! We accomplished a lot over the past two weeks! My dad has been coming by almost every day to repaint the main living areas of our house. It's basically the same color...but, a tad bit darker. It needed it badly and we are very happy with the results! We also cleaned out the garage and organized a couple of closets in the kids' bedrooms. We didn't do any traveling. But, had lots of family come to visit us. My grandparents visited for Christmas (my mom's parents) as well as Kami, Elliott and Jeshua. And Heidi and her family came for New Years. We also enjoyed getting together with Steve's family which included his parents, Aunt Karen and Grandpa. As much as we are sad to say goodbye to Christmas. It also brings about some relief that the busy-ness of it all is done. Time to get back to a somewhat normal schedule now. And we are hoping that 2010 is a much beter year with zero trips to the hospital, we hope!!!!
